The best TradingView indicators for crypto momentum trading

The gold standard for momentum measurement. RSI above 50 on the 1h or 4h confirms bullish momentum is intact; values trending toward 70 signal strengthening thrust. Divergence between RSI and price is the earliest warning of momentum exhaustion available on any free tool.

MACD histogram slope is a direct momentum velocity readout. Expanding histogram bars in the direction of trend confirm momentum is building; shrinking bars signal deceleration before price shows it. Crossovers add timing, but histogram direction is the real signal.

Faster than RSI, Stochastic RSI reaches overbought and oversold extremes more frequently — which is a feature, not a bug, for momentum traders who want early entries. Cross above 20 in a bullish regime often marks the cleanest low-risk momentum re-entry.
